So like Slashi requested me to create a guide for new mages. This is like a general guide on what specs gems enchants stats etc. This guide will be mainly based on a PvE perspective because I haven't PvPed in ages and well don't remember shit.
Frostfire Spec
Well currently I am using the spec 0/53/18 (Frostfire)
My spec is quite commonly used, however tbh in the frost talent tree you should be able to put anything but must include Icy Veins. Also Precision is a nice talent to have considering RDPS hit rating is 17% an added 3% is pretty nice.
Glyphs
What glyphs should you get? The glyphs which I have are Glyph of Living Bomb, Glyph of Molten Armor and Glyph of Frostfire. You could replace glyph of Frostfire for glyph of scorch but considering you spam Frostfire Bolt way more than Scorch I'd prefer Glyph of Frostfire. With minor glyphs, anything you want (since all of them are pretty useless).
Rotation / Priority
Well in Frostfire there is more of a priority list rather than a rotation. It is really quite simple, first off you must always have the scorch debuff on your target if there is no other mage in your group or no other mage which applies it on the target. Second of all you must always have living bomb up aswell. You reapply living bomb everytime it blows up. Why must you let it blow? It cause AoE damage and also Hotstreak procs from it which is really nice. With those to always on your target you basically spam living bomb until you have Hot Streak proc which then you get an instant pyroblast. Personally I like to have a consecutive cast meaning if Hot Streak procs after a cast, I will cast another Frostfire Bolt then immediately cast a pyroblast.

Gems/ Enchants/ Stats
Well basically it goes like this
Hit Rating (get hit capped 17%) > Spell Power > Crit > Haste
I gem sorta different however, I gem til I'm hit capped, but since I have like 43% crit with just molten armor. I think it is enough therefore all I stack in Spell Power. Haste is not really needed however a little bit of haste to increase the cast speeds is pretty nice. These are my current stats: https://i.imgur.com/wBLs7.png
With enchants just get the spell power ones. For shoulder enchants use Greater Inscription of the Storm which is obtainable by the Sons of Hodir quarter master (You must be exalted)Unless of course you have inscription then use the inscription enchants. With the head enchant use Arcanum of Burning Mysteries. It is obtainable by the Kirin Tor Quarter Master (You must be reverred).
With gems just aim for the spell power ones. Stack as much spell power as you can but if your crit is low gem crit.
Arcane Spec
I do not play Arcane that much so I cannot obtain 100% max dps. My current Arcane Spec is 57/3/11. You could spec slow instead of Magic Attunement but I like the extra range and Slow is more of a PvP talent. Basically same thing with the frost talent tree somehow get Icy Veins since it is an excellent talent. It is also nice to have Incineration because of the extra crit on Arcane Blasts.

With glyphs use Glyph of Molten Armor, Glyph of Arcane Missles, and Glyph of Arcane Blast.
Rotation / Priority
Arcane uses a rotation unlike fire. Arcane focuses on 2 main skills; Arcane Blast and Arcane Missles. You would like to cast 3 - 4 Arcane Blasts to get the debuff (increase arcane damage but increase mana cost). You must allow Missle Barrage to proc.Along with the Arcane Blast debuff and Missle Barrage proc cast Arcane Missles. Basically it's that and repeat. Normally what I would do when Bloodlust is poped I usually just spam Arcane Blasts regardless of manacost because there is always evocation of course.

Basically the same Enchants as fire but the stat priority is a little different.
Hit > Spell power > Haste > crit
It is more important to get haste in arcane because arcane is based on fast high crits. So basically gem the same way as Arcane but definetly include more haste. My current stats for arcane: https://i.imgur.com/W7Tyh.png
Tips and Tricks
A few tips and tricks which I use are make a macro for your cool downs. Make sure to pop them all at once especially when Bloodlust is activated.
This is my macro for Arcane
/cast Arcane Power
/cast Icy Veins
/cast Mirror Image
Macro for Frostfire / fire
/Cast Combustion
/Cast Mirror Image
/Cast Icy Veins
If there is no Shaman in the raid, just proc if when you get an awesome proc for example an epic trinket which gives you spell power etc.

). Cuz it has DoT on ground that is on for 8 secs. I'm using 20/51/0 spec and main thing is that boss is snared all the time so u have talent in Arcane that gives u 15% more dmg to Snared targets.
